World Kindness Day is on Monday, November 13th, and in honor of this day, it is important to recognize the health benefits of even the smallest acts of kindness. Between team members, with clients, or with strangers, showing kindness to others actually helps the giver more than the recipient, so why not show a little extra kindness today?
Helping people allows us to create or strengthen our connections with the community. Recently, Littleton Animal Hospital in Littleton, MA, gave a behind-the-scenes tour to the local Daisy troop. It all came together as a result of many acts of kindness from multiple team members, and in the end, both the girls and the team at Littleton really enjoyed the experience. They didn't have much time to prepare for the troop, but the team didn't let that get in the way. The day before they set up the surgery suite with a large stuffed animal, pulled out some old X-rays from the archives, and the newest associate veterinarian got ready to lead the tour.
The girls specifically requested to learn more about their local veterinary hospital because they have an interest in veterinary medicine. Many of them bring their own pets to this hospital, so they got to see where their pet goes during their visit. Hospital Manager, Allison Jackson, said, “Our team loves to teach and has such passion that they really enjoyed pulling together this field trip.”
