8 New Peer Advisors Appointed to VetCor's VetLife Program

June 10, 2021

We’re excited to share that eight new peer advisors have been appointed as part of our VetLife program. These talented individuals have found fulfillment in guiding new veterinarians through the early stages of their careers and have lots of support to offer.

Join us in congratulating our 2021 peer advisors:

  • Dr. Kimberly Brito, Salem Animal Hospital, Salem, NH
  • Dr. Madison Douglas-Seay, Veterinary Services of Aiken, Aiken, SC
  • Dr. Abby Gaebler, Hillcrest Animal Hospital, Rockford, IL
  • Dr. Emily LeBeau, Suffern Animal Hospital, Suffern, NY
  • Dr. Olivia O'Keefe, Orchard Veterinary Hospital, South Burlington, VT
  • Dr. Erin O'Rear, Fresh Pond Animal Hospital, Belmont, MA
  • Dr. Lauren Steigerwalt, Lexington-Bedford Veterinary Hospital, Lexington, MA
  • Dr. Stephanie Tarlowe, East Holmes Veterinary Clinic, Berlin, OH

In this role, these individuals act as unbiased resources that new graduates can come to for advice for any reason. Whether they’re having interpersonal issues with teammates or they’re not yet comfortable enough to ask their Chief of Staff how to handle a certain situation, our new grads can approach them for help with personal problems and sensitive questions.

Our peer advisors also co-host monthly new grad calls, along with the vet leader team, to discuss topics that are helpful and relevant to veterinarians kicking off their careers. Some important discussions you can expect the peer advisors to weigh in on include what to expect during your first year of practice, when to ask for a second opinion, and what to do when you make a mistake.

Plus, because they were only very recently in the same position, our peer advisors are able to offer their own experiences and advice when it comes to helping our new grads transition to full-time veterinarians which make them perfect supports to lean on.
