In 2024, Team Vetcor embraced a culture of continuous education and professional development through Vetcor University. As the year unfolded, team members eagerly sought out courses to enhance their skills and knowledge. In recognition of their dedication, five hospitals were recognized as Vetcor University Top Dog’s for completing the highest number of courses:
Horton Animal Hospital Discovery, Missouri
Best Friends Animal Hospital, Montana
West Lancaster Animal Hospital, Pennsylvania
Sanford Animal Hospital, North Carolina
The teams celebrated their achievements by choosing from options like custom-designed "Top Dog" t-shirts, a complimentary meal or treat, and the coveted bragging rights as this year's Top Dog.
Here’s a glimpse into the most impactful courses on Vetcor University and key achievements from our team overall in 2024.

Communication Techniques (1,054 completions): Effective communication is the backbone of any successful team. This course gives our team the skills to understand the decision-making process that clients go through and how to communicate clearly and empathetically.
Foundations for Front Desk Personnel (1,026 completions): The front desk is the face of a veterinary practice. This course trains front desk staff to foster a positive and welcoming atmosphere for clients and their pets. By mastering practice management software and effectively using clients' and pets' names, among other skills, team members gain the confidence to deliver exceptional customer service by the end of this course.
Safe Housekeeping Procedures (1,015 Completions) - According to AVMA PLIT, common injuries often stem from neglecting simple housekeeping tasks like keeping floors dry and removing walking obstructions. This course reminds team members of these hazards and how to maintain proper housekeeping in the hospital.
Overall, 21,861 courses were completed by Team Vetcor. This is a testament to the dedication of our team to keep learning, growing, and applying new skills in their daily work.
With 32 CE courses available, Vetcor team members have many opportunities to further their education online at no cost to them. There have also been several new courses added recently that focus on Mental Health, leadership, and building a culture of gratitude.
Congratulations to our 2024 Top Dog hospitals and to our network for making your professional development a priority. As we look forward to 2025, the ongoing commitment to education promises even greater advancements and a brighter future for our team members and the animals they care for. You can be sure that Team Vetcor will stay curious, keep learning, and continue to elevate the standards of veterinary care.
