Springtime infuses all of us with a little extra energy. Take a look at all these enthusiastic thank you messages from our team members this month.
Lucy Smith from the OPS team, St. Louis, Missouri, wants to recognize Yalitz Torres, Hospital Manager: "I want to recognize all of the hard work Yalitza has put in at Round Lake Animal Hospital. Round Lake partnered with VetCor in March and she has done an amazing job with her new role! I am so excited to continue to work with Yalitza and the rest of the Round Lake team!"
Lucy also wants to recognize Teresa Pluciennik, Hospital Manager: "I want to recognize Teresa at Animal Hospital of Spring Grove. Spring Grove, IL partnered with VetCor in March and Teresa was given the HM role. She has done a fabulous job learning all of the ins and outs of becoming an HM along with the daily VetCor duties. Teresa and the team at Spring Grove are such a fun group - l am looking forward to working with you all!"
Kat Nicholl-Basye from Penny Paws Animal Clinic, DeSoto, Texas, wants to recognize Becky Burnett, Practice Support Coordinator: "Becky is awesome and when I was out of the country in February, I quickly realized Sky World would not work outside of the USA. Becky helped me out by uploading the forwarded invoices into Sky World. This was a huge relief to ensure that vendors and relief vets were paid on time. Thank you Becky! :-)"
Melanie Meyer from the OPS team wants to recognize Lisa Malke, Hospital Manager at Animal Hospital of Howard: "Lisa is always one step ahead in planning and developing the health of her practice in all aspects of her role; from marketing, and team development to financial management. She is an advocate for her team, and her calm, cool, and collected personality is valued. She is always willing to lend a helping hand, thank you Lisa for your strong and thoughtful leadership! So luck to have you!"
Melanie also wants to recognize Katie Schmidt, Hospital Manager at Portage Veterinary Clinic: "I am so proud of how far you have come in your leadership skills. I see your growth every time we work together on challenges & goals. You are developing a thoughtful and balanced mindset as a leader and developer. You are an advocate for your team, practice, company, clients, and patients. Keep learning, keep challenging yourself, and keep on growing!"
Becky Salinger from
Austinburg Veterinary Clinic, Austinburg, Ohio, wants to recognize the
staff at AVC: "I am so thankful for your support, your hard work, and encouragement during these past few months, it means the world to me."
Becky also wants to recognize Dr. John Douds from Douds Veterinary Hospital: "Dr. Douds has been coming in to help carry our surgery load- we are so appreciative to not only to be able to continue to offer routine surgeries, but that he has also added procedures that we previously could not offer. It's been great for our patients and staff! He is the best!"
Kirby Jones from Animal Clinic of Grand Prairie, Grand Prairie, Texas, wants to recognize Jillian Craig, HR Generalist and Erin Rojas, HR Director: "Jillian and Erin both have helped our team numerous times. Both the HR team and our OPS team (Dr. Chad Harris & Cassie Linley, who was our RM at the time) were incredibly kind and sensitive to our needs, coordinating support through getting personalized counseling services and making sure everyone had access to EAP information. They were all so kind, and so sensitive to the needs of everyone during the process. They went above and beyond for our staff member, and it was noticed. I cannot thank them enough for their help, and their sensitivity. Thank you, HR! You are the best HR department I've ever had the pleasure to work with. And thank you to Cassie and Dr. Harris, as well. That was such a difficult time for us, and I can't imagine trying to get through it with a different team."
Nancy Fowler from All Care Veterinary Hospital, Coppell, Texas, wants to recognize Kaelan Cowan, Vet Assistant: "Our x-ray binder was a mess! Kaelan spent an entire day getting it in order and getting all the documents needed! I am so grateful for her!"
Kaci McHenry from Greenville Veterinary Clinic, Greenville, Pennsylvania, wants to recognize Carley Papst, Hospital Manager: "Carley got promoted to HM at her clinic a little over a month ago that I had the pleasure to train. She has shown so much growth within this last month and also shown excitement, not only to learn new things, but making her clinic the best it can be and be there for her staff. She has also taught me a few things along the way too!! I am so excited to see what the future holds for her. You are doing great, Carley!"
Kaci McHenry from Greenville Veterinary Clinic, Greenville, Pennsylvania, wants to recognize Alannah Labesky, Regional Manager: "Alannah continues to have the confidence in me to help with more at other clinics. I could not be more grateful for her and molding me into the strong manager I have become. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!"
Allen Mueller, COS from Mueller Veterinary Services, Columbia, Illinois, wants to recognize Dr. Kerry Stronis: "Coming in at 12:30am to try and help a dying pet that had complications from surgery 3 weeks earlier. "Beely" who passed away shortly after arriving in our parking lot... But she tried her BEST and that's why we are thankful!"
Mallory Joyner from Ambassador Animal Hospital, Fayetteville, North Carolina, wants to recognize Aya Suggs, PCA: "I would like to recognize Aya for being so diligent in her work and paying great attention to detail. It does not go unnoticed how hard she works to keep on top of cleaning, organizing, and making the clinic look and smell nice."
Mallory also wants to recognize Kristin Napodano, PCA: "I would like to recognize Kristin for helping our groomer so much with baths, for helping with a lot of maintenance tasks around the hospital and her artistic and innovative eye has shown through in a lot of areas of the clinic."
Amy Klotz from Douds Veterinary Hospital, Oberlin, Ohio, wants to recognize Becky McDowell, RVT: "Becky is super organized and helps reorganize items around the hospital to help them make more sense. Thank you for your great organizational skills Becky!"
Amy also wants to recognize Brandie Eichler, RVT: "Not only is Brandie an amazing RVT that does the majority of our dental procedures, but she also helps in training our other RVTs in dental radiography! As an added responsibility, Brandie acts as our OSHA officer and works to keep everything up to date with our OSHA regulations/responsibilities. We are so grateful for everything Brandie does!"
Anna Childers-Smith from Lake Station Pet Clinic, Lake Station, Indiana, wants to recognize Dr. Tracy Hubbard: "Dr. Hubbard has been instrumental in helping our clinic become feline friendly and has enthusiastically taken on most of the rescue work we do. We appreciate you and all that you have done for the clinic and we can't wait for you to continue to blaze the future with us and the next goal of ultrasound!"
Danielle Lopes from Tiogue Veterinary Clinic, Coventry, Rhode Island, wants to recognize Karen Turcotte, DMV, COS: "I would like to Thank Dr.Turcotte for being an amazing chief of staff and a fantastic coach to be over this last year of learning my new position as HM. Not only do we work incredibly well together, but she often shares the same brain and we bounce ideas off of one another with ease! Thank you Dr.Turcotte you are amazing!"
Michelle Metzner from Parkside Animal Care Center, Green Bay, Wisconsin, wants to recognize Sarah Groeschel, CCA: "Sarah is an amazing teammate! She goes out of her way to bake the most amazing goodies for every staff member on their birthday or just as a team "pick me up". She is always willing to take on projects, or you will find her asking for things to do around the clinic when there are those few and far between moments of down time. Sarah, we appreciate you and all the little extras you do at Parkside! THANK YOU!!"
Mallory Joyner from Ambassador Animal Hospital, Fayetteville, North Carolina, wants to recognize Dr. Stephanie Cawthorn: "I would like to point out Dr. Cawthorn who has been helping to train the new techs as well as getting everything done for health certificates which the techs would normally complete. She has been working hard to help the techs and myself to get things done efficiently."
Trevor Walker, DVM from Pace Veterinary Clinic, Pace, Florida, wants to recognize Helen Warren-Kelly, CCS: "Took the lead on training our new receptionist while our hospital manager was out on maternity leave."
Dr. Walker also wants to recognize Skylar Bosarge, CCS: "While our HM was out on maternity lead took the lead on the administrative side of the house to keep the ship afloat and ROCKED IT!"
Last but not least, Dr. Walker wants to recognize Kristen Cheek, Vet Assistant: "While both our HM and lead tech were out, she took the lead on training our new technician and keeping the operational side of the clinic flowing."
Matt Campbell from the OPS team wants to recognize Lindsey Jones, Hospital Manager: "Lindsey did an amazing job helping coordinate the HM/COS meeting for our area. I appreciate her hard work to make the meeting happen."
Jodi Smoley from Primary Pet Care, Stow, Ohio, wants to recognize Caity Hackworth, Vet Assistant: "There aren't many things in our clinic shorter than Caity, but you know what is? Veterinary clinic staffing! No need to tippy toe around this tall order of "THANK YOU" for Caity who is taking this challenge in stride. She has stepped up and grown in her skill every day."
Tessie Sloan from Midlothian Veterinary Clinic, Midlothian, Texas, wants to recognize Monica Kunsman, Lead Receptionist: "Monica is AMAZING! She has a way with our clients, she can make the grumpiest of men just beam when she speaks with them. She took a short leave last year and we definitely felt the loss, now she is back and we could not be happier. She is my lead receptionist and is wonderful at training our new staff and keeping everyone on task. I could not have made it through the transition period without her leadership while I attended and gathered new information for our practice. Thank you Monica for all you do!"
Brittany Klopp from Central Animal Hospital, Petaluma, California, wants to recognize Arlyn Cano-Veterinary, Technician: "Arlyn has been a staple and backbone of CAH for 5 years! She is one of the most hardworking, dedicated, and caring employees I've ever had the opportunity to work with. I've had the pleasure of watching her grow, not only in her technical skills but in her communication skills. Her ability to give feedback to teammates in a direct but empathetic way is inspiring. I can't wait to celebrate her next year!"
Michaela Otani from The Animal Doctor, Ventura, California, wants to recognize Gabby Garcia, Vet Assistant: "Gabby passed her VTNE this weekend!!! We are so proud and happy for all her hard work."
Cesar Molina from the OPS team wants to recognize Justine Wood-Graves, Hospital Manager: "Justine [thank you] for going above and beyond for her team and jumping into the HM role head first. Always being a creative, collaborative person to work with. Very appreciative to have her as a Leader in the Woodland Hills community.”
Cesar also wants to recognize Jocelyn Alcantara, Lead RVT: "Jocelyn has made leaps and bounds and has excelled and has excelled as a leader. Honing in on her dental and leadership. She always brings her positive attitude to the workplace and even tells a joke or two. The team at Woodland Hills is lucky to have you!"
Finally, Cesar wants to recognize Dr. Dennis Barros from Kula Animal and Wellness: "Dr. Barros has been a great new addition to our VetCor family and has worked hard to help us during the transition. He continues to do many surgeries and work extremely hard to help the community. He goes above and beyond to care for the pets in the community. Kula is very lucky to have such a dedicated, hardworking, compassionate veterinarian."
Sean Sornsin from the OPS team wants to recognize Steven Ramsdell, Manager of Analytics: "Steven is just so helpful in everything we ask him to help us with on the Operations team! Thanks, Steven!!!"
Kimberly Wilson from Dunham Animal Hospital, Winter Haven, Florida, wants to recognize Elizabeth Tilley-Farnham, Lead Technician: "'Tilley' came to us to work in a Lead Technician role while awaiting to take her NAVLE this month. She has been a fantastic support to the technicians, doctors and practice manager. She is always willing to say "let's figure it out" and "How can we make this work / flow more effectively" and then work as a team leader to solve the problem! She has been a fantastic team leader and will be a fantastic doctor!"
Katrina Guell from Scottsdale Cat Clinic, Scottsdale, Arizona, wants to recognize Dr. Cindy Menke, DVM: "No words could express how you make every impossible possible. Thank you for keeping us afloat during these changing times. We don't know what we would do without you!"
Ashley Misner COS from Stark Animal Hospital, Canton, Ohio, wants to recognize Dr. Jeff Lanz, COS: "Thanks Dr. Lanz for helping out with some mentorship for our practice recently. I appreciate your help and support!"
Eric Detrick from Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, wants to recognize Dr. Joleen Mihalic, COS: "Dr. Mihalic is an AMAZING COS! She truly cares about the practice and the staff. She and I meet weekly to discuss what is going well in the hospital and what needs improvement. She covers doctor shifts when needed. She accommodates the other doctors scheduling needs. Joleen goes above and beyond for the support staff and makes everyone feel important and heard. She is also a favorite with clients and pets. I'm proud to be her HM."
Dava Hunt from Cozy Cat Veterinary Hospital, Raleigh, North Carolina, wants to recognize the IT Department: "Thank you so much for all you have done for us in the last month. New computers, Avimark and Idexx crashes, and printers. I do not know what we would do without you. Thank you for all the hard work you do and continue to do. All of you rock."

Keri Garland from Animal Hospital of Gordon County, Calhoun, Georgia, wants to recognize Jesselyn Ozmore, Technician: "She is my right hand "person". She goes above a beyond to help me and our hospital be the best we can be. Most of the time she has a heart of gold. Lol."
Raj Singh, Chief of Staff Advisor from Oakridge Veterinary Clinic, San Jose, California, wants to recognize Alexis Franzen, Lead Technician: "Alexis took on the role of interim manager for two weeks and has agreed to an assistant manager role now. She really went all into the challenge for both roles. I think she deserves a shout-out!"
