About the Role

Pinnacle Veterinary Center is a team-oriented, veterinary practice looking to add a veterinary assistant or technician to our crew of passionate professionals. Your functions would include, but are not limited to:

  • Able to handle all patients with compassion, respect, and care.
  • Perform TPR's, obtain relevant patient history, utilize safe restraint and handling techniques.
  • Demonstrate the ability to explain and educate clients in regards to treatment plans, procedures, medications, and outpatient care.
  • Collect specimens (blood draws, urine/feces collection, cytology etc.)
  • Perform routine laboratory procedures and maintenance of laboratory machines (Preferable knowledge of IDEXX machinery)
  • Able to safely position and take radiographs.
  • Assist with check in, set up and entire pre-op to post op surgical process.
  • Able to understand and actively provide safe anesthetic monitoring.
  • Stays up to date on preventive healthcare recommendations. Including but not limited to: vaccines, flea/tick and heartworm preventatives, importance of wellness visits, diagnostics etc.
  • Basic understanding of cleaning, disinfecting, and sanitizing protocols related to federal and state animal health laws as well as OSHA and DEA regulations.
  • Keeping real time updates of medical records
  • Preferred knowledge of software applications including EzyVet, SmartFlow, IDEXX
  • Critical thinking skills, ability to multi-task, strong communication and client service skills, must be able to work efficiently as part of the team.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly in a veterinary assistant position (REQUIRED)
  • Intermediate computer proficiency.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking abilities.
  • Personable, empathic disposition.
  • Capacity to work well during distressing situations.
  • Regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Ability to work shifts 7-8 hours and, as needed.
  • Familiarity with veterinary software is preferable.
