Early this fall we mentioned that TechLife was excited to announce a training session in New Jersey for assistants and new techs. The focus was on basic skill building and gave new team members in that region the tools to have a great start to their careers as part of the Vetcor network.
There were over ten team members that attended from the area including from New Jersey and Delaware. The format involved both large-group learning as well as small-group training at different stations. They covered medical histories as well as subjective, objective, assessment, and plan (SOAP) notes together. Then, they broke off into small groups and rotated through four different stations. Topics consisted of radiograph positioning and terminology, lab basics such as PCV/TP and ear cytology making, nail trims, ear cleaning, and restraint including low stress handling.
Training and education are a top priority for TechLife. This collaboration circle also puts considerable effort behind connecting technicians and vet assistants through their Facebook group, CE events, and monthly newsletter. If you are already a part of Team Vetcor, reach out on Facebook.
