South Tyler Animal Clinic in Tyler, Texas does not need a building or fancy medical equipment to serve and impact their community. This past June, they had the opportunity to provide medical care to pets experiencing homelessness belonging to members of Church Under a Bridge, a local church community that hosts services in areas experiencing unstable housing. This part of East Texas has harsh winters of snow and storms and brutal summers of extreme heat that are difficult for this population. According to The Tyler Loop, a local media source, nearly 500 people in Tyler are experiencing homelessness, and the population of homeless pets is nearly triple that.
Through generous donations from South Tyler Animal Clinic patients and supporters, vaccines, food, and preventatives were able to be provided to these desperate pets in need.
