Hospital managers across the Vetcor network are set up for success with the support of HMLife. HMLife is one of our collaboration circles that seeks to deepen connections and provide growth opportunities for team members in similar roles. HMLife is behind the robust onboarding our hospital managers receive and the Facebook group where they can connect with peers. New this year, HMLife is offering events that bring in influential speakers to help hospital managers navigate their roles.
Hospital manager onboarding is the cornerstone of HMLife and is a highly tailored experience to meet the needs of both new and experienced managers starting at a Vetcor hospital. This eight-week program runs once a quarter and each video call features specific role training and time for participants to share their experiences. In 2024 HMLife started to offer hospital managers the chance to join events. In January, HMLife held their first event, Wellness in the Workplace, in partnership with Dechra and Not One More Vet. They covered the sensitive but important topics of mental wellness and emotional intelligence in the workplace. The next event, Communication Solutions to Increase Accountability, Eliminate Problem Behaviors, and Enhance Self-Leadership, will be in June. Dr. Amanda Donnelly, named the 2023 Practice Management Educator of the Year for the Western States Veterinary Conference and two-time Practice Management Speaker of the Year for the VMX Veterinary Conference, will lead this discussion. Hospital managers will walk away with action steps to unlock the problem-solving capabilities of their team.
The HMLife Facebook group now has 585 members and continues to grow. This closed group is a go-to spot for hospital managers with questions about anything from daily hospital tips and tricks to employee benefits such as continuing education events. Last month, hospital managers shared their favorite team-building moments, like the simple but effective and much-appreciated coffee day at Leland Animal Hospital.
