Facility Updates to Provide Quality Care
Tailoring our facilities support to our hospitals.

October 28, 2024

We support our hospitals by taking on operational burdens, including facility updates, allowing them to concentrate on patient care and building client relationships. Our facilities team works closely with hospital staff to ensure they can continue to provide the high-quality pet care their communities depend on. There are countless stories of remarkable transformations led by our facilities team that significantly enhance how our hospitals deliver care.

Kaukauna Veterinary Clinic, Kaukauna, WI, recently finished a renovation with the goal of repurposing its space. The hospital team, along with their regional manager Melanie Meyer, recognized there was underutilized space which included an oversized lobby. Melanie shared, “We wanted to make the facility more functional and allow us to serve more patients. We added three exam rooms and can now have five DVMs in the practice at once, with space for everyone.”

KaukaunaThe facilities team recognizes that being onsite can make a world of difference. They visited Kaukauna during construction and were able to provide immediate feedback to improve the project. Having face to face interactions not only keeps projects on track but also helps the facilities team build trust and rapport. The success of any facilities work relies on the cooperation of the local leadership, Melanie added, “Overall this was a very positive experience. We are happy to say there were no real challenges. Local leadership lead with realistic positivity. They focused on what a great opportunity it is to be able to improve the practice. They set expectations; there will be noise, mess, and chaos at times, but we will work together, we got this. They set the tone, and the team was great through it all.”

No two facilities projects are alike. The team at Redondo Shores Veterinary Center, Redondo Beach, CA, not only renovated but expanded.  With the goal of creating spaces for specific purposes, like a pharmacy, lab, and a staff room. They also added exam rooms so anxious pets can get to a quiet area quicker. Miranda Tamrakar, hospital manager at Redondo Shores, reflects on the collaboration with the facilities team, “The remodel process is very intensive with literally hundreds of moving pieces and decisions. Having a team to partner with that could manage all those items and offer advice based on their experience made it all possible. Facilities listened to our needs and found creative solutions to really increase the functionality of our space. I am so proud of what we are creating.”

In a unique twist, Redondo Shores was able to consult with a Feng Shui expert, Miranda shared, “It was a great experience to take productivity and function and look at it from another perspective and marry all those considerations with atmosphere and the energy or feeling of the space. Not only will we have a functional environment to work in, but it will be comfortable and feel inviting as well.”

Our dedicated facilities team is there to support our hospitals as they continue to deliver quality pet care. Their steadfast commitment to improvement is what sets Vetcor apart. Celebrating the completion of facility projects is always a special moment, and we love to acknowledge these significant milestones.
