Exotic and pocket pets, whether large or small, are a big part of our clients' lives. Aside from providing comprehensive care to extraordinary pets, our teams will often have learning opportunities with local exotic rescues and rehabs.
Russell Veterinary Hospital - Russell, Pennsylvania
This patient is affectionately known as Momma. She came in for a wellness checkup and had a great visit with Dr. Megan Mead. Dr. Mead also cares for the area’s large animals. The team at Russell Veterinary Hospital is a key part of dairy herd health on local dairy farms, as well as Dairy Health Management Consulting to producers around the United States.
Integrative Animal Hospital of Central Florida - Sanford, Florida
This sweet lady came into Integrative Animal Hospital of Central Florida with an uncomfortable eye. The team came up with a plan and after some testing, the good news is that after a bit of therapy, Sanford is feeling much better. Sanford has become quite the spokespet after this visit. As a dwarf hamster, she has distinct qualities: she loves fresh veggies and can run five miles on her wheel in one night, but she also needs a lot of care and attention. The team is happy to keep Sanford and other pocket pets in good health.
Pet Medical Center of Pasco - Pasco, Washington
Not to be outdone by Sanford, Roxy is a spokespet herself for Pet Medical Center of Pasco. She catches everyone’s eye and reminds them that exotic pets have specific needs. Roxy looks equal parts cute and scary after eating strawberries. Although she is a Sulcata tortoise, she looks different because she has a malformed shell due to an improper diet when she was younger. She may have some trouble getting around, but she doesn’t let that stop her from enjoying all the love and pets she gets from the Pet Medical Center family.
Red Star Veterinary Clinic - East Canton, Ohio
Dr. Trish and hospital manager Olivia from Red Star Veterinary Clinic recently attended a leadership day as part of their ongoing education. The event covered key topics such as customer service, patient care, conflict resolution management, and overall team wellness. As evident from their smiles, they were delighted to meet a three-banded armadillo during their training. They concluded the day brimming with new ideas to enhance their hospital’s success. Plus, they discovered that the armadillo’s favorite snack is sweet potato—a fun and important tidbit!
West Lake Animal Hospital - Taylorsville, Utah
The team at West Lake Animal Hospital is thrilled to have Dr. Nebeker, an exotic veterinarian, on board. While they regularly see dogs and cats, Dr. Nebeker also treats a variety of unique pets. Dodogama, the bearded dragon, and Boo, the coolest 11-year-old leopard gecko (not pictured), are especially happy to have the team at West Lake keeping them healthy.
