Our Practices Have Implemented Steps to Protect Employees & Clients While Continuing to Provide Essential Patient Care

March 20, 2020

At VetCor, the health and safety of our patients, clients, and team members has always been at the forefront of our mind. As COVID-19 continues to change the landscape across the country, we’re taking a number of steps to protect our team members and their clients while trying to accommodate patient needs to the best of our ability.

What We’re Doing at Our Practices:

  • In addition to implementing their normal cleaning routines, our practices have increased the frequency at which they’re doing so with an added focus on client and employee areas
  • Within the clinic, team members are utilizing personal protective equipment (masks, gloves, gowns – normal course for veterinary care)
  • Following the CDC’s guidelines for:
    • frequent handwashing
    • advising individuals experiencing sickness or respiratory symptoms to stay home
    • avoiding close contact with individuals who are sick or suspected of being sick
  • Adjusting appointment schedules to reduce the number of people in the building at any given time or utilizing curbside/drop off service to reduce the risk of exposure. We’ve shared some examples in our latest blog post.

What We’re Doing at the Corporate Level:

  • Monitoring advice and bulletins from local, state, federal, and industry agencies/associations
  • Letting practices determine the best course of action for themselves by sharing
    • Local, state, and federal recommendations/legislation
    • Best practices for hours adjustments, schedule changes, and curbside/drop off service recommendations
  • Creating processes to help practices quickly and efficiently communicate changes to their clients
  • Implementing additional sick pay for employees who contract COVID-19
  • Holding daily meetings with executives and operational teams to review and adapt to changes
  • Listening to feedback from the field and staying connected to day to day changes happening at the practice level

We are staying mindful of the ways COVID-19 continues to affect the lives of our team members and clients, and we remain committed to accommodating patients’ needs while minimizing exposure risk for everyone.
