Practicing responsible breeding is something that is important to Chambers Prairie Animal Hospital because it is an extension of animal care and well-being. On average, each female breeding dog produces 9.4 puppies annually (source: Human Society) and with that, there is a lot of responsibility that a breeder has in order to care for the paw-rents and the pups!
Chambers Prairie Animal Hospital, located in Olympia, Washington, holds an annual Breeder Day event where they provide quality services at a fraction of the cost. This amazing hospital provides vaccinations, eye certifications, thyroid testing, and more for breeders in the community. Chambers Prairie also offers OFA certifications, which tests the canine’s genetics to see if there are any possible hip problems, such as hip dysplasia, which is common in certain breeds.
Steamboat Animal Hospital was the longtime host of Breeders Day and passed the torch to their sister clinic, Chambers Prairie. Chambers Prairie paused Breeders Day during the height of the pandemic but they are highly anticipating getting it up and running once it is safe to do so. We have no doubt that they will continue to do great things in their community!
